I’ve been getting questions on where I got my dresses as seen in the right side image, as well as the image in my “About” page. And I’ve decided to answer the repetitive question in a post, since the line is worthy of a post. Both dresses are from Bettie Page Clothing. BPC is a fantastic site that provides beautiful dresses inspired by the one and only pin-up queen herself, Bettie Page. Founder and designer, Tatyana, says “Bettie Page Clothing was born from my desire to create high quality, modern dresses and clothing that hearken back to the golden age of American glamour and fashion” which sums up the site pretty darn well.
I purchased the dress seen in the “About” page at Emerald City Skates, the local Roller Derby store in Eugene. The turquoise dress came from the ebay page of Bear Flag Republic. But you can also order from their own site. In addition to Bettie Page dresses, BFR offers other vintage accessories, but I suggest Pin-Up Girl Clothing for the real finds in terms of new retro inspired fashion, they also carry BPC. Page dresses are pretty pricey though. Most cost an average of about $115.00, but you can find some real deals on ebay, as I did where I only spent $60 for the turquoise dress.
A word of caution though…I had never bought a dress of any sort off the internet, and I never had any real desire to since I’ve had my series of “Oh my gosh! That’s so cute!” out shopping, and then realizing it doesn’t look all that great on me. The turquoise one is a little loose on me in the sholders (provided it is a boat neck), and it requires dressing tape for it to stay in place.
