So, I’ve decided to create another weekly installment, “Wednesday Wardrobe”. I want to prove that it’s easy to dress vintage without spending a lot. There are three categories items will fall under:
- Vintage: period piece, made pre-1979, usually purchased at an antique shop, show or flea market
- Resale: newer piece, post-1980, usually purchased at shops like Buffalo Exchange
- New: purchased new, a store like Target or Forever 21
Additionally, I’ll list the item as such:
- Item: category, brand/marking, place of purchase, price
Today’s entry: Cheerful Cherries
- Hat: Vintage, no tag, Joe Klem’s Antiques, $1.00
- Necklace: (A broach being used) Vintage, unmarked cherry broach, St. Vincent de Paul, $1.99
- Shirt: New, Target, $7.99
- Skirt: Resale, az well, Buffalo Exchange, $16.00
- Bracelet: Unknown, unmarked, antique show, $1.00
- Purse: Resale, unmarked, The Clothes Horse, $6.00
- Garter belt: (unseen): Vintage, no tag, The Clothes Horse, $6.00
- Stockings: Vintage, FFS Sapphire, Puttin’ On The Ritz, $4.00
- Shoes: Resale, Unlisted, Picc-a-Dilly flea market, $8.00
Outfits don’t have to cost a lot to look great and vintage. It’s just a hunt. I usually haunt the local thrift and resale stores. Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul prove to be a great place to find stuff, especially skirts and jewerly. As I continue with this, you will notice that I hardly buy off the internet.
