Interested in Becoming an Antique Dealer?

Palmer-Wirfs, those lovely people who host Expo, are putting on a class to explain the basics of the antique industry.  And it’s free!

Right now, those in the business are retiring quicker than new blood is coming in and this event is to help promote interest in the business and eliminate fears that some may have!

The event will cover the buying process, the mark up and pricing notions, methods of selling, among other aspects.  The event includes five dealers speaking on various topics, including myself! I will be covering the internet selling portion as well as the green aspects of the business.  I’ve been prepping my speech and am eager to share my experience with those interested.  Stop by any antique shop in the area and pick up an issue of Old Stuff and on page 14 you will find an article on the event.

If you are interested in attending, the event takes place Saturday, April 23 from 9 am to 4 pm at the North Harbor Residents Inn located at 1250 N. Anchor Way, Portland, Oregon (just off I-5).  There will be a break for lunch at 12:30 and at 3:00 a Q&A will take place with all of the speakers, ending at 4:00.
