Well tomorrow Patrick and I leave for sunny (or at least I hope so, there have been some weather forecasts that predict rain for a few days while we’re down there) southern California. And tonight I packed my suitcases…or at least tried to…
My crinoline and all of my outfits proved to bit a little too much for my suitcase to handle, so I took up some room in Patrick’s as well. But it’s all packed and ready to go! We’re spending the first few days with family, and then the weekend in Disneyland. It’s very hard for me to contain my excitement! I’m really looking forward to wearing my Disneyland skirt and Tiki Room pantsuit!! I’m not sure if I’ll be doing any blogging while away, but be prepared for LOADS of photos!
I love the knee-on-the-suitcase move — it’s classic! I’ve found that crinolines can be rolled into a roughly tubular shape about the size and shape of a large roast and tied with twine, then steamed out in hotel bathroom to release any wrinkles. I still end up hogging most of the suitcase space, though.
I can’t wait to see the outfit pix and to vicariously enjoy that sunshine.
I recently found your blog and I adore your Disneyland skirt! I hope you post some pictures of you in the skirt in Disneyland. Too cute.
I actually live just a few miles from Disneyland, and while the weather has gotten a tad cooler and wetter this week, I think it’ll be a great time to visit. Even “cold” here isn’t really that cold — as I type this it’s 62° and sunny, maybe a bit brisk but not even coat weather, really. Layering with a cardigan (and a light coat if you plan to stay out after dark) would probably be plenty, and even when it rains it doesn’t pour.
Hope you have a great time visiting family and Disneyland! Can’t wait to see the pictures. If you get a chance, definitely check out the California Adventure side of Disneyland, and the Blue Sky Cellar over there. They’re re-doing the whole front of California Adventure in a 1930s theme, still under construction but it’s already looking wonderful. And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the weather is nice for you!
Aw, thanks! I’m planning on taking lots of photos in the skirt at the park!
It rained two out of the four days we were in the park last time, and since Disneyland doesn’t have a whole lot of drainage, my feet got soaked right through my penny loafers! I ran out of clean socks since I had to change them a few times, and I had to buy socks! For this trip, I packed a light wool jacket, and I think I’ll be okay. 60 degrees is considered warm for us Oregonians!
I keep up to date with the Disney Parks Blog and have seen all of the concept art for the new California Adventure stuff, I can’t wait to see how it turns out! We may be visiting again this year for Rock Around the Park (a rockabilly day at Disneyland) and by then I know that Cars Land will be open, which I’m looking forward to as well.
By the way, I just checked out your blog, you have some mad sewing skills!
Looks like you’re packed and ready for a fun filled holiday! I usually end up taking up some of the free space in my guy’s suitcase too.
Have an amazing time and don’t forget to get some Mickey Mouse ears at Disneyland. I don’t really know why… but I’ve always wanted a pair of those. 🙂
