Autumn Tones

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I’ve been feeling under the weather, and was in bed most of last week. But I think I’m on the up-and-up. Let’s hope so, because my favorite kind of weather is happening this week…sunny, dry and cold. It means I can wear suede, and I do love me some suede. Until last Expo, I hadn’t come upon the perfect western leather jacket, and now, in the last few weeks I’ve purchased three! Including this one…

The suede is so soft, I love it so much. And the jacket is by one of my favorite jacket brands, Californian, by the California Sportwear Company of Los Angeles.

I swung by Imelda’s to see if the Miss L Fire Spring/Summer collection went on sale, and indeed it did! I purchased a pair of their Parades in some nice autumn tones. So while it is a “spring/summer” shoe, it certainly screams fall to me!  I will say though that the ribbon ties on these are a bit of a pain. I found them a little on the short side, and prone to coming untied, and the little plastic ends would fall into the shoe, creating an uncomfortable moment where it would press between my foot and the shoe.  I may find myself replacing the ribbon for different ties of some kind.

I also popped into Naked City, a shop I really rarely find myself at, for a combination of reasons, but they had something in the window that I thought would make a perfect gift for my dad, and I found something for me, this wonderful “Retrolite” cowboy brooch, by Classic Hardware, I had been drooling over for sometime.  He’s quite convincing as vintage Bakelite, but a fraction of the cost, and less worrisome!
