Christmas at Disneyland
As mentioned in my previous post, Patrick and I spent Christmas Eve with my sister, her husband and my grandmother and her boyfriend (oh my, that does sound scandalous, doesn’t it? But it’s true. Her last husband died when I was in grade school, and prior to that her first husband, my dad’s dad, passed away in 1968). We had a nice dinner together, exchanged gifts and Patrick and I drove back home later in the evening. On our way home we decided since Christmas day was just going to be the two of us, and we were going to Disneyland, we also exchanged presents. And I was thrilled when I received a Disneyland purse I had been drooling over for sometime at the park, one of the retro print purses by Dooney and Bourke.
I had been wanting a strictly Disneyland purse for sometime. A purse that was cute, but practical (read as “large enough for blanket and bottle of water”), sturdy, and of course, obviously Disney, that would be used for visiting the park. There were a few selections that I liked, but many out of a price point I felt comfortable with, though I still lamented and gazed upon the Dooney and Bourke designs when we were at the park.
Originally I had a super adorable, very festive and somewhat sparkly Christmas outfit planned for our holiday visit, but as our intention was to spend most of the day there (we ended up being their 7:30 to 11:00), I opted for a more practical and comfortable look.
Despite capacity (yes, Disneyland does have a guest capacity limit) level crowds, Patrick and I had a fun and rather leisurely visit. We had brunch at Carnation Cafe on Main Street, enjoyed a handful of attractions, met characters, saw the current show at the Fantasyland Theatre, Mickey and the Magical Map, and while we didn’t get to dine at our first dinner choice, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, we still had warming bread bowls filled with gumbo before viewing Fantasmic.
I hope all of you had a wonderful and magical Christmas!

Beautiful as always 🙂 love the dark green color in your slacks. Very festive with the red blouse.

I am just catching up on your posts. They’ve been great as usual! Loved your dress in your last post. I’m so jealous of all your disney trips. But this purse is fabulous!! I am putting it at the top of my wish list. I usually like small purses, but this one is just too awesome. Sooo cute, it suits you well!
What a lovely gift! You’re hubby sure knows you huh? 😉

Patrick is a legend for buying you that great purse! Happy Christmas!!
It’s so nice to see you so happy with your new move and taking in all the festivities of Disney.
I love the style of your trousers
What a lovely, thoughtful gift from Patrick; not to mention the fact that it’s a gorgeous purse, and I love how you’ve styled your outfit to go with it too.
Sweet Janey, you never fail to know my (vintage) socks off with your stellar ensembles. I adore this blend of menswear + Disney + Southwestern style. What a fresh, unique, awesome style!
