In March of 2020 many Disney fans were making plans and looking forward to the twice yearly event at Disneyland known as Dapper Day. And then, well, you all know what happened in March of 2020. Long time readers will be familiar with this “unofficial” theme day, where Guests are encouraged to “step out in style. As you can guess, many of us have been waiting for quite awhile for the return of this delightfully fun and fashionable event, and thrilled when it was announced the event would be happening in November.
An additional part of Dapper Day is the Dapper Day Expo, a two day shopping event with a variety of vintage and retro clothing dealers, as well as vintage and hand-made jewelry. I was especially ecstatic when the announced Expo would require vendors as well as attendees to show proof of vaccination and require masks. While I didn’t find too much, I ended up dropping quite a bit of money at Match Accessories booth.
Speaking of purchases, despite being a relatively recent purchase, I cannot remember where I bought this dress. But I do remember when I tried it on I instantly knew I would wear it for Dapper Day since it just felt very autumnal. And even though Disneyland has officially kicked off the holidays, I wanted to cling onto that fall color palette for a little while longer.
We spent the first half of the day on our own, and around lunch met up with some friends, many of whom I hadn’t seen in over a year. We exchanged gleeful hugs (as I was well aware they were vaccinated) and roamed the park and eating beignets and I even met some new folks as well.
For those in or visitins Southern California in next spring, Dapper Day weekend will be April 23-24. For those in or visiting Florida, you can catch the fall outing this weekend, and the spring event April 30 and May 1. Learn more on their website.
