Christmas Carols by the Old Corral

Christmas has come and gone, and I can’t believe it’s over already. This year we were able to resume our tradition of going to Disneyland on Christmas day, and despite the rainy weather I was still determined to wear the Christmas outfit I had been planning, and well, I learned my lesson, never again will I wear a full length dress in the rain.

Myself, wearing a light tan fringe leather jacket, long dress with a small green and white floral print on it, and green and red scarf, standing in front of a doorway to a shop in Frontierland.

A mini washboard sits in a garland with small stockings hanging from it in Frontierland.

A scarecrow with a Jack O'Lantern head is dressed up in a red Santa outfit, he stands out front of the Haunted Mansion, which is decorated for both Halloween and Christmas inspired by the film The Nightmare before Christmas. Standing on the balcony is Jack Skelington himself, dressed in his Santa outfit.

An odd looking Christmas tree stands atop a building in Adventureland, featuring snowmen made of coconuts, bananas, and fish hanging from it.

An old fashioned lamp post features a wreath, snow falls around it.

A band in Victorian attire stands outside the Main Street train station.

A Christmas tree stands in the corner of a window on Main Street, with a stocking hanging from the fireplace on the left.

Disneyland's Fire Station features garlands across the opening. In the window above, where Walt's Apartment is, is a small Christmas tree.

Sleeping Beauty Castle at night, lit to appear as if it has snow atop the roofs and giant icicles hanging from the edges. Garlands also drape around part of it.

Garlands stretch across Main Street USA, with Mickey shaped wreaths in the center. At the end of Main Street stands a tall Christmas tree, and the star topper is visible through the Mickey wreath.

I bought this dress a month or so ago, and was instantly like “Okay, this is what I’m wearing for Christmas” and what resulted was a very Dr. Quinn looking outfit. Which, honestly, I’m here for. If you’re new to the blog, then you may not know I absolutely adored that show growing up, and was thrilled when I was able to visit Paramount Ranch, which stood in for Colorado Springs in the series, and was later used in Westworld, among other films and TV series.

Disneyland really is magical during the holidays, even in the rain.

No matter what holiday you celebrate during the winter season, I hope you had a lovely one, despite the trying times we find ourselves still in. This also marks the last post for 2021. As for New Year’s Eve, we will be spending it at home by ourselves once again, but at least this year we will get to see the sparkle of Disneyland’s midnight fireworks, unlike last year. Here is to 2022, and the hopes it is even just the smallest bit better than 2021.
