While I was laid up last week, I spent a lot of time with a childhood favorite of mine, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. (Thank goodness for whole series on DVD!) I was also slightly bitten by the pin bug when we were at Disneyland, and found myself on Ebay looking for various pins featuring my favorite Disney characters, and stumbled upon ones from Rescue Rangers! I immediately bought them (and a few others…), and proudly wore them the other day when I went out to lunch with a friend downtown…
Don’t worry! I’m not tossing out vintage novelty brooches in favor of Disney pins, but every once in awhile I want to boast that I’m part of the Disney fan base. I also think it’s fun and important to incorporate what you love into your outfits. It can be as loud as a shirt or a subtle as a pin.
Outfit
Sweater: Garb-Oh Vintage
Letterman Sweater & Skirt: Don’t remember…
Penny Loafers: Buffalo Exchange, Portland, Oregon
Purse: Thrifted by my dad!
Bangles: Various places
Rescue Rangers Pins: Ebay
I love your Rescue Rangers pins! You did a heck of a job matching them to your outfit! I’ve been getting a little too hooked on searching ebay for Disney pins… I’ve only bought one so far though.
Yes!!! (Underlined a thousand times!) I completely agree that it’s great – and important – to let your various interest shine through in your wardrobe choices. Loving vintage clothes does not mean we can’t love, wear, and incorporate other items into our ensembles, too, be they adorable Disney pins, modern graphic t-shirts, knee high boots, or anything else our heart fancies. One should always dress for themselves first and foremost, and I truly adore and admire that you do so with your stellar outfits, dear Janey.

*PS* I’m going to be singing the chorus to that song (Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip ‘N Dale’s
Rescue Rangers!) in my head all day now. So cute! 🙂
So cute! Both you and your Disney brooches. 🙂
I agree! Wearing things you love is very important!

Your outfit is fantastic, and I’m now humming the Rescue Rangers theme song. The pins really pop with the outfit.
