Christmastime at Home
We are in December! It’s hard to believe that we are just 20 days away from Christmas! So it is time to share with you our home all decorated for the holidays! Between post-Anaheim Halloween Parade activities, and both Patrick and I getting a cold, we were slow to decorate, and we also chose to limit the number of trees we put up. Last year the green aluminum tree didn’t go up, so we figured it needed to come out this year! I think we may just start rotating through our trees each year instead of trying to put all of them up.
Unlike Halloween where we had a lot of new additions to our decor, Christmas has been rather limited. In fact, we really have only added to our department store Santa photo folder collection and not much else!
Readers who have been here awhile will know those are not real presents! They are part of my system to cat-proof and protect our trees. If you’d like to read more on the process, check out this post! I started by wrapping empty boxes, but have been transitioned to the decorative boxes found at stores like TJ Maxx. What is nice is that most of those styles of boxes are designed to nest, so they are both easier to store and take up less room.
In the meantime we’re also slow on getting our Christmas cards done! We still haven’t taken our Christmas photo, and are currently waiting on the arrival of our Christmas cards that we ordered. I’m very excited about this design, as it was done by my friend and extremely talented arts, Minerva Mouse!
Are you all decorated for the holidays? When did you start? Are you a before or after Thanksgiving person? We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving and it takes so long to take down Halloween, clean, and then put up Christmas, it’s just easier and makes more sense to go straight into Christmas after Halloween! Although I can say, Houdini is always sad to see Halloween get packed away and is bewildered by the Christmas decor.
