Dress to the 9 3/4s

Mix Harry Potter fans, with a dash of vintage, along with Universal Studios and what to do you get? Dress to the 9 3/4s Day, a Harry Potter vintage themed day at Universal Studios. It’s kind of like Dapper Day (which was the previous weekend) but with a focus on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This was the third annual, I had missed the previous two due to being blocked out the first year, and not having a pass the second. And despite still having this wretched cold, I was determined to go! Even if my outfit was a little on the simpler side, as I wanted to be comfy.

Wondering the stone alleyways of Hogsmeade, wearing a white blouse under a black dress. A brooch of a witch on a broom worn on my left.

A stack of cauldrons marks the entrance to the Magical Neep, a shop in Hogsmeade, wearing a white blouse under a black dress. A brooch of a witch on a broom worn on my left, and carrying a tan leather satchel stye purse.

I think if I attend next year I’ll want to be a little more extravagant. A lot of people went with a 1920s look, as the latest wizarding world films of the Fantastic Beast saga take place in the 20s.

Universal Studios is gearing up for the holiday season which kicks off this weekend. At Universal they celebrate “Grinchmas” and Guests have an opportunity to visit with the Grinch and see Dr. Seuss inspired Christmas decor, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter gets the festive treatment as well. I look forward to returning to see how Universal does the holidays.

As mentioned earlier, Patrick’s mother and sister are visiting for Thanksgiving, and arrive next week, so I’m still unsure if I’ll be able to fit in any blogging during that time, so if I don’t post anything between now and then, I wish all of my American readers a Happy Thanksgiving (if you celebrate that is!)
