Autumn Cowgirl
First, I am terribly sick. I honestly sound like a chain smoker. Second, Patrick’s mother and sister are visiting in less than two weeks, and there is much to do! So I’m honestly not sure how much blogging is going to be done in the next couple weeks. I apologize in advance!
However, I am very pleased to bring you my fall Dapper Day ensemble, along with looks of some of my lovely friends! Long time readers of the blog are familiar with Dapper Day, the twice yearly event that takes place at the Disneyland Resort, and is where you are encouraged to “step out in your best!”
Something I didn’t share the first time I wrote about Dapper Day was the struggle I felt in choosing what to wear. Ultimately, I felt so utterly under-dressed, something I rarely feel. But at that spring Dapper Day, with countless gals running around in poofy 50s prom dresses and gorgeous flowing gowns, the little cotton frock I opted for felt lackluster. Leading up to fall Dapper Day that year I expressed my struggle and Stephanie, the official Dapper Day photographer, spoke to me about doing what feels good for your wardrobe, and your personal style. That year I decided to select some of my nicer western wear and go with an fall inspired cowgirl look. The idea stuck, and this year marked the third year I chose to go that route, so it’s a bit of a tradition now I suppose. Meanwhile for the spring event, I have opted for square dancing dresses or Gunne Sax, a frillier western look. Alright, enough chatter! On to the outfits!
As you can see, all of us interpreted Dapper Day differently, and I love the differences in our styles.
Now I’m off to curl back up on the couch with blankets, tissues, and fluids galore! I hope November is treating you well! And if you’re American, and of voting age, I sure hope you voted!
