Last Spring Dapper Day I wore a floral square dancing dress, which I absolutely adored. I had planned to do the same this year, but then I got to thinking about my many neglected Gunne Sax dresses, which I made a New Year’s resolution to wear more of this year.
For some reason this dress reminded me a bit of one worn by Dixie Cousins in the episode “Riverboat” from my favorite TV show, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. – you can take a look here. Even though the dresses are not really all that similar, it gave me the same vibes, and fueled my need for a lace parasol and shoot in New Orleans Square and on Disneyland’s very own riverboat, the Mark Twain. And although as much as I would have loved to do my hair like hers, I know it’s quite time consuming, as I’ve done it before for my cosplays of her. So I opted for a quick Gibson Girl do instead.
Outfit
Dress: Once again, I can’t remember where I got this! I just keep hoarding Gunne Sax dresses, and forgetting where I buy them.
Pearl Necklace & Bracelet: Found by my dad
Shoes: Re-Mix
Parasol: Amazon
You have such a great collection of Gunne-Sax dresses! They turn up now and again here in the UK but generally in tiny sizes, so I don’t have one yet. Our equivalent is Laura Ashley I suppose, I have a few of those 😉
You look AMAZING in this dress! And the parasol is the perfect finishing touch!!
Ooh- I love this outfit! The dress suits you so well! Definitely wear more of your Gunne Sax- I love seeing them!
