Over the weekend Patrick and I visited Universal Studios for a festive day with friends to enjoy the sights, sounds, and sweets of the season in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, as the area got the holiday treatment for the first time!
For the day my outfit was inspired by one of my favorite places in Hogsmeade, the sweet shop Honeydukes, where the color scheme falls in line with the season, as pink is a close enough relative with red!

Do pardon the wrinkles in the skirt. It took about an hour to drive to Universal that day. There’s no getting around traffic in LA! Oh, if only I could apparate!
So believe it or not, I’ve had this spectacular vintage, ladies Stetson fedora for over four years, and had yet to feature it on the blog! But, then again, I haven’t worn it all that often. If I’m honest, I’ve been wearing hats less and less, unless they are cowboy hats that is, which I’m sure some of you have noticed. As my style has evolved, I’ve often opted not to wear a hat, or gloves, or stockings really. There are the rare exceptions here and there, and this outfit is certainly one of those exceptions. However, I will say this outfit still feels very me. It’s a little on the eccentric side, but still very vintage. Sadly, I am guilty of hoarding a collection of hats, gloves, garters, and stockings, that aren’t getting worn. I’ve pared down my collection of these items greatly in the last five years, and it’s now down to the best of the best, but even then, those items still rarely see the light of day. But perhaps because the gloves and stockings take up hardly any room, and the hats are organized perfectly fine, I’m not all that bothered by the fact they aren’t worn because they aren’t really in my way…unlike unworn clothing hanging in the closet. Anyone else face similar issues?
Outfit

Jacket, Bakelite, & Bow Tights: Buffalo Exchange
Sweater: Red Light, Portland, Oregon
Skirt: Vixen by Micheline Pitt
Shoes: Re-Mix
Honeydukes Purse: Hot Topic
This outfit is literally perfect for Honeydukes, I love it! Honeydukes is such a pretty shop❤️
Thank you so much! And, right!? I could spend hours in there!!
I’m in the same boat. I have hats and gloves not getting worn.
Manly my scarfs get warn the most, and I’ve crocheted a vintage inspired hoodie for myself that I wear in winter.
A vintage inspired hoodie!? That sounds adorable!
Oh, and I quit wearing stockings and pantyhose years ago. I mainly wear knee high socks or knee high trouser socks, and in summer I’ll also wear colorful ankle socks with sandals.
Due to the type of work I need to do at work that has me bending and stretching, I no longer was able to wear a garter belt.
That is totally understandable! I wore a lot of the knee highs that still look like pantyhose when I worked at Disneyland due to the work as well.
This is a very fun and different outfit, but I agree it is still very “you”.
And I’m with you on the unworn hats and gloves-I have a bunch that don’t fit my style anymore, but I don’t really have anywhere to get rid of them, as vintage is not really a “thing” where I live! 🙁
Aww! Perhaps you could sell them on Etsy or even Instagram? I know many people who sell items super quickly on Instagram.
Another fun post! Love the outfit. Mad for the Christmas decor at Universal!😁
