Earlier I wrote about Knott’s Berry Farm‘s summertime unique, interactive experience Ghost Town Alive, well, the fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down at Knott’s. This year they have added a whole new experience with Summer Nights.

From now through August 11, Guests can enjoy live music from multiple bands, a live DJ, a wide selection of food, and games. Basically, it feels like Knott’s is throwing summer block party, complete with a “party planning committee” to mingle and make sure Guests are having fun!

Summer Nights takes over the area in front of the large Calico Mine Stage, and a little bit of the Boardwalk around the Charleston fountain, as well as the area of Calico Park which also features a stage. The music never stops as different bands alternate between the two stages throughout the night, along with a DJ who blasts tunes from atop the Boardwalk Surf Shop, encouraging a dance party below around the massive Charleston fountain. During the kick off night this weekend the bands were Hiatus (known previously over at Disneyland as members of the Mad T Party) and the eclectic sounds of Doug Legacy and the Zydeco Cajun Party Band. But other nights will feature Tomasina (who have also played at Disneyland previously), The Suffragettes, and more. This is all in addition to the regular live music offered elsewhere in the park!

Food offerings include some classic summer staples like lemonade, including a variety of flavors, ice cream, kettle corn, fruit salad, chili, skewers, and more. All of the items can be purchased individually, but the best bang for your buck is to purchase a tasting card for $35 which will get you eight of the items offered on the card. In addition to the tasting card items, Guests can purchase a s’mores kit and roast them on small tabletop fires found in front of the Calico Mine Stage. Which my friend, Kiley, and I had a blast doing.

And no party would be complete without games! Classic games such as Corn Hole, a large interpretation of Jenga, giant checkers, and more can be found around the picnic tables, and are all free to play.
