Last summer I said goodbye to one of my favorite attractions at Universal Studios, Jurassic Park: The Ride, as it closed to be revamped into Jurassic World to better fall in line with the reboot of the franchise. Well, after much anticipation, the attraction reopened last week! I was thankful that much stayed the same, but there were some big changes, including the addition of the aquatic Mosasaurus and formidable Indominus Rex.

But not only did the ride get a revamp, the portion in front of the attraction did as well. Previously a rather temporary looking “Raptor Encounter” had been set up in front of the attraction, but now a permanent meet-and-greet location has been constructed, and Guests can meet Blue, everyone’s favorite raptor who was introduced in the first Jurassic World film. In addition to Blue, at least two more dinosaurs have been added for Guests to meet, including a triceratops, and baby raptor. They also added a bar serving up tiki drinks, called Isla Nu-Bar, a play on the name of the island where the park is located, Isla Nublar. However, the tiki mug selection wasn’t that great, so we didn’t get one. Seriously why aren’t they just serving up the Mondo raptor egg mugs?

Overall, the ride is still a lot of fun, and you get absolutely drenched, so, yes, wore a poncho. My biggest complaint is that I miss the little two little compsognathus that fought over a box of popcorn. Oh and the can of shaving cream.
You can see what the ride looked like before from our visit last fall here.

I love your skeleton jewelry! I’ve never seen a necklace like that one before- it’s so unique and perfectly fits the theme!
Thank you so much!
