Christmas, but make it Star Wars

Way back in October I received my very own custom hand painted Star Wars inspired jacket by my friend and fellow Star Wars fan, Solanah. But, between all the craziness that is the Halloween and Christmas seasons, I failed to find the time to do a proper reveal of the jacket. However when working on what to wear to Disneyland this Christmas, I realized the main colors of my jacket’s design are Christmas colors, and I put together a Christmas meets Star Wars outfit.

Myself, wearing a black leather jacket, with blue sabacc dice on the upper left, a red peasant top, green pencil skirt, and black leather driving gloves, leaning against a rock wall.

Earlier this year Solanah started taking commissions painting jackets, mostly with a Star Wars theme, and I knew I just had to have one. I debated for a long time on what the design should be… I wanted something unique, kind of obscure, but also somehow related to my favorite characters, Lando Calrissian and Han Solo. Then it hit me…the thing that linked the two together, a game of sabacc where Lando loses the Millennium Falcon to Han. Pulling from the film Solo, I chose the hand that Han wins the Falcon with, script reading “Fair and Square” referring to the lines Han says when he and Lando reconnect in Empire Strikes Back, and Han’s lines at the end of Solo when he wins the Falcon. I also opted to put the sabacc dice on the upper left part of the front of the jacket.

Within the shops of Batuu at Disneyland, Guests can purchase their very own sabacc deck, and it was one of the first purchases we made when Galaxy’s Edge opened. Since our Christmas visits are so low key, we took the deck with us on Christmas to play as we ate breakfast. The game is much like poker, and can be played with or without betting.
