Over the years I’ve mentioned that I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day. But it’s slowly grown on me. However Patrick and I have never do anything big, and don’t exchange gifts. Since moving to California, I’ve used Valentine’s Day as an excuse to wear something red and/or pink, maybe with hearts, and go have lunch at Disneyland, which is exactly what we did this year, dining at one of my favorite restaurants in the park, Carnation Cafe.

The dress is a vintage Gunne Sax dress that I spied on Insta and immediately clicked the shop’s link and bought. I immediately knew I would wear it on Valentine’s Day. But the thing I love about red and white garments is that I find them really versatile. Add blue and it becomes an outfit perfect for Independence Day, and add green and it’s great for Christmas. Which I think this dress will for sure get the Christmas treatment this holiday season, as I think it would be swell to wear for Knott’s Merry Farm!
For the day I was feeling the soft romanic vibes of the Victorian era, which inspired so many of Gunne Sax’s dresses, as well as Main Street USA, and threw my hair into a Gibson Girl, and paired the dress with Victorian style boots from Oak Tree Farms. This particular pair features embossed soles that really that special touch. As we sat down for lunch I noticed I might as well have been Disneybounding as the wallpaper of Carnation Cafe, which is red with a small white floral pattern.

No Valentine’s Day at Disneyland is complete without saying hello to my favorites, Chip and Dale. I will say that over the last couple of years Dale has really won my heart. He even gave me flowers! As did Chip, but Dale threw them out before I could accept them.

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day, and that the month of February is treating you well!

Fabulous outfit! ♥️
What a terrifically lovely outfit. I’m a huge fan of combining 60s/70s boho and similar styles with those of the Victorian and Edwardian era. You’ve done so awesomely, my dear friend.
Happiest Valentine’s season wishes!
