A Haunting Halloween at Disneyland

For Halloween we spent the first half of the day at Disneyland before returning home to pass out candy to trick or treaters, or rather checking in on our bowl out front, refilling it as necessary. For our visit to the park, I wanted to deviate from the classic orange and black, and opted for a Haunted Mansion inspired look, with a dress similar in color to how some of the ghosts appear inside the Haunted Mansion. We spent the day drifting around New Orleans Square, eating gumbo and beignets, and riding the Haunted Mansion (which is all gussied up with its Nightmare before Christmas overlay) and Mark Twain. Also, despite it being Halloween, New Orleans Square had already received the Christmas treatment!

This was the first year we were actually home on Halloween, in the past we’ve spent the evening at theme parks, and last year we drove around looking at the homes that were decorated for the local decoration contest. This year we felt a need to stay home and pass out candy as we decided to decorate the yard this year, and we actually ended up running out of candy! Is greeting trick or treaters part of your Halloween tradition? Or do you keep the porch light off?

This week I worked to taking down Halloween decor and plan to do a deep clean before hauling in Christmas! Also I need make decisions about my Dapper Day outfit, as that is in a little over a week!
