Christmas Day Magic

Since moving to California, going to Disneyland Christmas Day has become a tradition for Patrick and I. It’s a day to soak up the festive sights and bites of the season and take it easy.

For over a decade I’ve avoided sweatshirts, but recently I’ve embraced them. They give a layer of warmth, but without the restrictive movement of jackets and even sweaters. When I spied this one at the park earlier in the holiday season I knew it would be the perfect thing to wear for Christmas, as I knew I wanted a more casual look for the day. And while I’ve embraced the sweatshirt, I still try to gussy them up.

The day also give me the perfect excuse to show off one of the latest projects Patrick and I have started. For over 20 years I have been collecting pressed coins from Disneyland and other places. They have always been one of my favorite souvenirs at the park, and are one of the cheapest! I had kept them in a shoe box for all those years, but Patrick suggested to turn them into charm bracelets. If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, then you know I simply adore charm bracelets! I loved the idea, but the easiest way to do that was with a drill press, which we lacked. But about a month ago Patrick found one on CraigsList and I got to work organizing my large collection of pressed coins and figuring out what combinations and themes I wanted. I was able to put together this charming seasonal one from my years of visiting during the holidays. And I just loved how it sounded while walking around, it was like I had jingle bells on! So perfect for the holiday. I look forward to putting the remainder of the coins together and sharing them with you in the future! Do you collect pressed coins? If so, what do you do with them?
