Gingham Gals
Themed parties are the best parties, don’t you think? Me too. Which is why I was thrilled when Rhiannon of Garb-Oh Vintage hosted another themed party (you may remember the floral party not too long ago). This party’s theme? Gingham! Shockingly enough, I only own two gingham dresses, neither of which I was too proud of…so I spent the weeks leading up to the party in search of the perfect party dress, but to no avail. My rantings of course were reiterated on Facebook, and my friend Angelica came to my rescue offering up a fantastic gingham print dress for me to borrow!
Isn’t it fantastic!? It’s like gingham zebra stripes! I told Angelica to keep me in mind if she were to ever think of getting rid of it, since I really did fall in love.
We all had a lovely time chatting about vintage shops, time travel, and how we handle non-vintage oriented parties. And we all giggled when we realized that everyone arrived in either black or red gingham.
Rhiannon’s dress I think really took the cake. It was a stunning 1930s number with elegant, almost vest-like detailing.
Many guests had adorable accessories to their gingham dresses. Cassandra of Dear John Vintage wore an adorable wood and Lucite kitty brooch, and Jennifer of Jumblelaya wore a darling necklace of apples.
I was also pleased to spend company with Teresa who I did many of AlexSandra’s fashion shows with, the ever lovely Solanah of Vixen Vintage, Sandi of Lorrel Mae’s Vintage (that’s all her bakelite there) and Christine of Living Threads.

What a great idea for a party. All of you look so cute!
Oh that dress is just amazing! It is the chicest gingham I have ever seen! Everyone looks so summery and cute!
I love the idea of a gingham party! So many pretty dresses and the zebra gingham stripes… mega swooooon!
Such a lovely idea for a party and you all look wonderful! Makes me crave summer weather… x
Ahh, gingham. I think I might have to throw a gingham party now.
You all look beyond ravishing! Seriously wow, gingham zebra stripes.
I would love to see pictures from your very own gingham party!!
Thanks, lovely!
How fun, I love gingham…especially the classic red/white gingham check. I’m currently making some kitchen curtains to match my gingham tablecloth. I love your dress and that purse is soooo cute!
That is one of the absolute neatest gingham prints I’ve ever seen! Love how at first glance it doesn’t really look like gingham, you’re think zebra stripe or wavy lines, but then you get closer and all the darling gingham pops out at you.
Perfect theme for a summer part for sure – everyone looked amazing!

Sure!!
Is it okay to admit that I’m achingly jealous of the amazing parties that you go to? I need to clean my house and yard so I can plan something – but in this area, with the heat and drought, maybe I’ll plan for next spring.
You are so beautiful! You should model vintage and new-but-vintage-patterened chothes.
At first I was confused because it didn’t look like gingham and then saw up close- so clever! Oh my goodness.
That dress is awesome. And I love the hat. But I am horrified you only own two gingham dresses! I have at least four I think of off the top of my head.
I know! It’s so sad!! I would love to own more! But I just haven’t come across enough!
