Cupcakes & Cowboys
Oh my, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? Well, truth be told, I really haven’t been feeling all that great. I had a recent visit to the dentist and I’ll spare you the unpleasantness, but I was in a bit of pain. Then shortly after I wrenched my neck somehow! So I just wasn’t in the mood to go out and do much, let alone take photos. But I’m feeling much better and today Patrick and I went to Wanderlust to celebrate the shop turning two!
Shop owner, Vanessa, offered tasty mini cupcakes for the celebration which I happily enjoyed while I browsed her racks of delightful pieces of vintage. Ultimately I walked out with a sheer yellow top that I can’t wait integrate into my wardrobe. Now, on to show off one of my new favorite pieces from my closet, the “Western Town” skirt!
As many of you know, I’m a western wear/motif fiend, but I’m also getting obsessed with these scenic border print skirts! This one is my latest addition to the collection of western themed border print skirts (the others being a covered wagon print, and the stagecoach print). And the added bonus is that the hem on the inside still features the selvedge edge which reads “John Wolf Textiles, Inc. ‘Western Town'”. John Wolf Textiles also printed the stagecoach design as well, among many other border prints.
Speaking of these western themed border prints, awhile ago I was on Instagram and a friend tagged me in a sale of a border print skirt featuring tipis! I was crushed to discover the skirt had already sold. I’m making a plea with all of my fellow vintage lovers (that includes you, dear readers!) that if you ever run across this skirt let me know, please!

Oh hon, I’m glad to hear you’re feeling much better now!! -sends hugs-
That skirt you’re wearing is super super cute, it looks awesome with that pink blouse. And I will absolutely be on the look out for that print for you. That tipi print is gorgeous
I’ve enjoyed my classic hardware brooch cowboy so much! Nice to see someone else who is as well! Love the skirt! If I find that skirt you are searching for (not in my size) I will let you know for sure ! xoxo
This is such a great look! I really like the print and the colours in the skirt.
Oh you look so cute! I love this outfit. I think this is my favorite of your western themed skirts. The pink blouse is great too, pink looks good on you. Wow, a tipi skirt, that would be a classic!
I love (please underline that no less than a billion times), this awesome Western town print skirt and how it’s a continuation of the chuck wagon trail one that we both own. I really like how you styled it with a pink top here. The soft, earthy hues in the skirt’s pattern compliment a candy worthy hue like that brilliantly.

*PS* That tepee skirt is sensational, too. I will let you know instantly if I ever find one like it online or in person.
Glad you’re feeling a bit better lovely, sounds like the shop party was just the ticket to boost your mood. Can’t wait to see your new top x
What an adorable look on you! I love the skirt, and you look absolutely darling in pink! And mmm now I want cupcakes!
