Rollercoasters. Rodents of unusual size. Arcades. Mini Golf. It’s all here.

Valentine’s Day Lunch on Main Street

February 19, 2020, 3 Comments on Valentine’s Day Lunch on Main Street

Over the years I’ve mentioned that I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day. But it’s slowly grown on me. However Patrick and I have never do anything big, and don’t exchange gifts. Since moving to California, I’ve used Valentine’s Day as an excuse to wear something red and/or pink, maybe with hearts, and go…

Let’s have a Party with Charlie Brown and Snoopy

January 30, 2020, 2 Comments on Let’s have a Party with Charlie Brown and Snoopy

Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang are the icons of Knott’s Berry Farm, aside from the boysenberry that is! And normally the Charlie Brown’s beagle pal and the rest of the gang hang out in Camp Snoopy, but during Peanuts Celebration, which kicked off last weekend, they get to take over the entire park. Not only…

Berry Exciting News

January 28, 2020, 5 Comments on Berry Exciting News

JULY 2020 UPDATE: I have left this Ambassador program. If you read this, then read my post on why I left, then you will understand just how crushing this is for me. I have had some extremely exciting news bottled up since late last month, but things are finally official so I feel like I…

Greetings from Springfield

January 22, 2020, 5 Comments on Greetings from Springfield

When Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, they also acquired the rights to The Simpsons. Which leaves the future of Springfield at Universal Studios a little uncertain. So, I decided it was high time to give Springfield its moment to shine here on the blog, because, honestly, the theming is pretty good, and gives a decent…

Christmas, but make it Star Wars

December 31, 2019, 3 Comments on Christmas, but make it Star Wars

Way back in October I received my very own custom hand painted Star Wars inspired jacket by my friend and fellow Star Wars fan, Solanah. But, between all the craziness that is the Halloween and Christmas seasons, I failed to find the time to do a proper reveal of the jacket. However when working on…

Step into Whoville during Grinchmas

December 26, 2019, 1 Comment on Step into Whoville during Grinchmas

The fanciful town of Whoville from How the Grinch Stole Christmas pops up in the middle of Universal Studios each holiday season, and while I’ve missed it the past couple years, I was darn sure to make it this year! While there may be three versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas now, Grinchmas pays…

Once Upon a Wintertime

December 17, 2019, 2 Comments on Once Upon a Wintertime

Last weekend Patrick and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary. We didn’t do anything too fancy, since things have been hectic lately, and opted just to do dinner at Cafe Orleans at Disneyland. They currently offer hot chocolate beignets and they are absolutely delicious. Since we had a winter wedding, I wanted to wear a…

The Bird Cage Theatre

December 10, 2019, 12 Comments on The Bird Cage Theatre

Tucked inside Knott’s Berry Farm’s version of The Bird Cage Theatre (the real deal is in Tombstone) is a small wall featuring wallpaper of white birds sitting inside gilded cages and swirling green leaves. I’ve always admired it, and because it gave me serious Christmas vibes I thought, “Oh, wouldn’t it be nice to have…

Knott’s Merry Farm is a Western Winter Wonderland

November 26, 2019, 2 Comments on Knott’s Merry Farm is a Western Winter Wonderland

Last week Knott’s Berry Farm received a dusting of snow transforming it into Knott’s Merry Farm. I love Christmas, and honestly, Knott’s is the warmest, coziest place to spend the holidays when it comes to theme parks. Intimate settings, multiple shows, shows plus a craft fair make you feel like you’ve come to a small…

Fall Dapper Day with Friends

November 5, 2019, 6 Comments on Fall Dapper Day with Friends

Fall Dapper Day came right on the heels of Halloween this year, but for the most part we played it pretty chill, spending most of the day roaming, taking photos and eating food. Like previous unofficial theme days at Disneyland, you’re not only getting pictures of me, but also photos of some of my stylish…

November things. The boys tried to help decorate f November things. The boys tried to help decorate for Christmas, so things have taken way longer than I thought. Friends are the best. Disneyland surprises. And a new car!
This morning Patrick and I went to Disneyland basi This morning Patrick and I went to Disneyland basically just to eat as much holiday food as we could. It’s been on the chilly for us in California, so I bundled up but wanted to stay comfy, and ended up looking like a David Crosby groupie. Not a bad look for throwing it together at 6 am! From the Holiday Beef Dinner Potato to the gingerbread cookies (the best ones are from Harbor Galley!) to the Cranberry Pomegranate Mint Julep (it’s no Watermelon Julep but it’s still tasty!) we filled our bellies right as it started to sprinkle.

It took over a week to be able to come up with coh It took over a week to be able to come up with coherent words for how I’m feeling after the election. Over on the blog you can find a list of institutions Patrick and I currently support or have previously supported. They offer aid to various threatened groups, provide resources, teaching tools, and ways you can be active. Link can be found in stories and bio!

Also this isn’t Philly! It’s Knott’s Berry Farm! Need a reminder of democracy, visit Knott’s Berry Farm’s recreation of Independence Hall. It’s free to visit! It was also used in National Treasure! Which came out 20 years ago today!
November so far. I can’t believe November is over November so far. I can’t believe November is over half over. I haven’t been able to blog for several reasons. 1. Both Pat and I caught a cold. Yes, a cold. We tested for COVID multiple times and were negative. 2. The election. Reflections on which will be shared this week on the blog. 3. We have started our office renovation. Well I guess we completed Phase 2. Phase 1 was when we build the wall. Anyway, we painted, laid carpet down, and moved some stuff around. Phase 3 will be making a custom corner wall unit. Meanwhile I finally packed the last Halloween box today. It was the bathroom decor, and began to deep clean. I hope to haul in the Christmas decor this week. How about y’all? How are you holding up? Have you decorated for the holidays?
We need each other more than ever now. We can be s We need each other more than ever now. We can be scared. I am the most scared I’ve ever been in my whole life. We can take today to rest and mourn. My simple advice is look around you. Find those you trust. Build a better community and future with them. And with them we will fight. We must never stop fighting to create a place where everyone is equal. If you learn of protests, groups, programs, anything, that helps others, post it, share it, encourage people to attend, and attend yourself.
So much is at stake. Vote! But don’t stop there. G So much is at stake. Vote! But don’t stop there. Get involved in your community. Create positive change on your own street. Make a space that is welcoming and inclusive. 💙
Houdini is ready to be packed away. 🎃 But in all s Houdini is ready to be packed away. 🎃 But in all seriousness, black cats are some of the best cats around. They are not bad luck and they are NOT to be used as live, temporary Halloween decorations. A very tragic reality, and a contributing factor to why they are often not available for adoption during October. Sadly because of superstition black cats are the least adopted, and make up roughly a third of the cats available for adoption. So please consider adopting one if you’re looking for a furry companion! They are incredibly affectionate and fun loving! 🐈‍⬛
I can’t believe the @anaheimhalloweenparade is ove I can’t believe the @anaheimhalloweenparade is over. We celebrated the centennial of our parade, quite the milestone! @patrickarlt and I took on a lot more responsibilities and it added to our growing sense of community here in Anaheim. While it may be over for another year, many of our volunteers are already hard at work seeking ways to improve our event for next year! 🎃 I dived a little more into all that Pat and I took on over on the blog! You can find a link in my bio! 🖤
