In my last vintage photo post I highlighted more fashionable ladies, and while most of the time I look for well dressed gals from days gone by for inspiration, every once in awhile I come across a photo of a gentleman I just can’t pass up. I think it’s time we highlight some of these dapper gents…
I’m blessed with an old fashioned kind of husband who prefers wearing button-up collared shirts tucked into pants with a belt and even has some nice hats he wears. What’s amazing to me is that my granpa, who was a WWII vet, dressed like the men in the above photos his whole life. He worked on a farm and owned his own gas station and lawn mower repair, yet always looked nice, clean, and presentable. People dressed nicer regardless of what work had to be done out of respect for others as well as themselves. Perhaps our culture has lost the notion of having enough self respect to look your best.
These are marvelous, dear Janey, in fact, make that super marvelous. I especially love the second chap sitting on the steps. He seems to wonderfully happy and at peace with life in a way that is hard to capture in a photograph from any era.
So very dapper!
I love the second one. He has the most wonderful smile.

I don’t collect guy photos, but these are enough to make me change my mind!
And the guy in the second photo is MY vintage boyfriend.
