The Lost Art of Nite Club Souvenir Photos

April 29, 2020, 8 Comments on The Lost Art of Nite Club Souvenir Photos

It’s no secret I’m a fan of collecting vintage California souvenirs, and awhile back Patrick and I stumbled upon a souvenir photo from the Hollywood Palladium, which was tucked inside a delightful folder. It combined my love of California souvenirs and his love of photography, so we decided to start collecting vintage nite club souvenir…

Patrick’s Camera Collection Vol. 2

April 2, 2020, 3 Comments on Patrick’s Camera Collection Vol. 2

Welcome to part two of Patrick’s Camera collection! To recap, when Patrick and I began dating, he was focusing on a career as a photographer, and when I learned he didn’t collect anything, I gifted him a single vintage camera I had purchased years earlier. Over the years his collection has grown. To view Volume…

Patrick’s Camera Collection Vol. 1

When Patrick and I first started dating he was well on his way to a career as a photographer, and I soon learned he didn’t collect anything. Now, coming from a family of collectors I was a little shocked. Some years previously I had purchased a cute vintage camera and decided to gift it to…

The Lost Art of Romance Comics

February 12, 2020, 4 Comments on The Lost Art of Romance Comics

One of my favorite artists of all time is Roy Litchtenstein, known for his pop art, comic book like works, which also means I have a soft spot for the vintage romance comics that inspired some of his work. I’ve collected a handful over the years, once scoring a good number that clearly belonged to…

Vintage Christmas Wrapping Paper

December 19, 2019, 3 Comments on Vintage Christmas Wrapping Paper

Recently at a flea market, I spied this super cute box for wrapping paper. I was drawn to the cheerful Santa, and thought he would pair nicely with a vintage box for Christmas cards I had to display (you can catch the box under the “Reindeer Drive” sign in our Christmas decor post here). But…

Vintage Christmas Cards Vol. 2

December 12, 2019, 1 Comment on Vintage Christmas Cards Vol. 2

Last year I shared part of my vintage Christmas card collection with you all, and well, the collection has grown, and I’m here to share more with you! I’ll start by sharing the card we actually reproduced as our Christmas card this year… I found it so fitting as a representation of Patrick, myself, and Colonel…

Vintage Mini Trick or Treat Bags

October 17, 2019, 3 Comments on Vintage Mini Trick or Treat Bags

Two years ago I started collecting vintage Christmas cards. The cards were like mini works of art, and I thought I would display them like clothes hanging on a line. I kept the idea going with vintage Valentines, and then for Halloween last year I decided to do it with vintage miniature treat bags, perhaps…

Since summer is my favorite time to visit Knott’s Berry Farm, I thought it would be a great time to share my vintage Knott’s Berry Farm postcard collection! In looking at these images, most of which are over 50 years old now, it’s amazing to see just how little has actually changed. Let’s start with…

The Lost Art of Paper Dolls: Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Edition

May 28, 2019, 6 Comments on The Lost Art of Paper Dolls: Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Edition

It’s no secret I love western wear. But a secret I do have is that I have a soft spot for vintage paper dolls. For years I have refrained from purchasing any of these miniature works of art, but when I spied a set featuring western kind and queen, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, I…

Vintage Knott’s Berry Farm Photos

March 28, 2019, 3 Comments on Vintage Knott’s Berry Farm Photos

In the past I’ve shared portions of my vintage photo collection, typically of well dressed people from yesteryear, but today I am sharing vintage photos of Knott’s Berry Farm, and even some photos from my family visiting Knott’s! Knott’s Berry Farm was originally just that, a berry farm, selling berries and preserves. But when the…

Rodeo look day 3! With snaps take at the Joshua Tr Rodeo look day 3! With snaps take at the Joshua Tree Inn before heading up to Pioneertown because there is NO reception! Psychedelic #QueenOfTheRodeo . Irony of ironies, this was going to be my Dapper Day look, and I’m missing Dapper Day today because I’m here at the Rodeo! Seriously, Orville Peck always takes priority. I’ve never been this in love with a musician (that’s alive! 🤣) If this look seems oddly familiar it’s because @hoodratdiego wore literally the same thing last fall Dapper Day! 🤣 And I didn’t even realize it until I started putting looks together and said “Hold on a sec…” 🤔 And scrolled back through their Insta. So sad today is the last day of the Rodeo but I am looking forward to getting home and cuddling my fluffy boys. Blog post to come!
Day 2 look for @orvillepeck ‘s Rodeo! Was today Day 2 look for @orvillepeck ‘s Rodeo! Was today perhaps one of the best days of my life? Yes. 100%. Not only did I meet Orville, he complimented my Gram Parsons tee, then gave me a rose at the show. And yes, I cried. Orville is not only a talented musician, he has made country music a more accepting place and I’m so thankful for. Plus his Rodeo brings together an amazing group of artists to share in his spotlight!

I went for an Elvis vibe for day one, with a vintage 70s jumpsuit my friend @simplyadorabell bedazzled for me! The belt is an ancient find from my Portland days. Today was truly magical as I got to hear Orville cover a Gram Parsons song, and I was in heaven! #QueenOfTheRodeo #OrvillePeck
